DUTCH RUDDER

originally the “dubb skate” – its the board that named itself……somehow. THE DUTCH RUDDER was created with only one thing in mind – boosting. i had a  friend come in the shop after breaking his nose off his board about 8″ down and telling me he liked it better that way because of less “swing weight”. then a placebo wave skate came in the shop just a day or so after that. then team rider JAMES “HIME” LOVETT asking for thicker noses on his board for landing varials came to mind. it call got me thinking….skateboard.

so the DUTCH RUDDER (for short, gets called “the rudder” a lot  around the shop) has the nose cut off and a “kick”,  if you will. the board has rail channels that are blended into the deck and connect to the nose kick. the rocker is pretty much half that of a regular board both in the nose and the tail. this makes it crazy fast and able to get speed so easily, quickly, and in mushy surf. being these boards are so short and a little wide they still turn a lot better than one would think being so flat. and with the long rail line of a board that would be a lot longer, but missing the nose, it surprisingly carves turns quite well. it has a single into a slight double concave with a beveled modified swallow/squash tail combo.
