the double O – M is your everyday board for mushy, gutless, small, and uneventfull waves. in other words SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. here what works best is a board with a little more volume for easy wave catching and planing, lower entry rocker for quick easy speed, a single concave for lift and speed, and nice gradual tail rocker with plenty of rail rocker. well thats what you get with the OOM. all this makes for a great performance all around board. a light hip behind the front fins increases pivot while the squash tail gives you the constant lift through those mushy flat spots.
the slightly wider shortboard outline increases the outline curve. the slight volume increase in this board enables you to ride this model shorter than your usual shortboard. those two things coupled together create a board with more outline curve and that equates into tighter turns and a board that fits into the curve of the wave face better.
