The Surf and Gaming media got its first hand’s on look at Billabong’s new surf video game yesterday in the conference room at Bong Headquarters in Irvine California.

Billabong Surf Trip was received by both members of the surf media and gaming editors and bloggers from all over the gaming world.

“My overall experience with Billabong Surf Trip was a good one,” wrote Matt Dunn from the prestigious game site Touch Gen. “The waves are sweet, the controls are solid, and the various maneuvers actually require some skill and timing to pull off.”

The 2010 North Island Longboard Championship event will go ahead this Saturday 11th September 2010 at the primary location of Forestry Beach.

The long range forecast is predicting a 1 metre North East Swell with North - North West winds which should provide suitable conditions to run the event. Forestry is a North Swell magnet and has had consistent banks through all tides in recent swells. High Tide is at 9.30am on Saturday morning which will start the day with an increasing swell all day.

Kolohe Andino (San Clemente, CA), 16, won the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-4 Nike 6.0 Unsound Junior Pro over Nat Young (Santa Cruz, CA), 19, in Long Beach, New York after a marathon day of competition in peaky one-to-three foot surf to take an early season lead on the new ASP North America Pro Junior Series ratings.

Surfers competing on the ASP North America Pro Junior Series are out to finish atop the regional ratings to qualify for the prestigious ASP World Junior Tour and the Nike 6.0 Unsound Junior Pro’s heightened ASP Grade-4 status will play a vital role in competitors overall standing for the season.

On Saturday, September 11, 2010 Martyn Lenoble and Christina Applegate will host the Surfrider Foundation's fifth annual Celebrity Expression Session at First Point, Surfrider Beach in Malibu at 12p.m.

The 45-minute free surf gives celebrity surfers from music, film and television the opportunity to have some fun demonstrating their skills at Malibu's famous point, while also raising money and awareness for the Surfrider Foundation.

This year's confirmed celebrity participants include musicians Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Eric Avery and Martyn LeNoble, actors Eric Balfour, Austin Nichols, Brian Geraghty and Sam Trammell.

Under a bright tropical sun, a gentle breeze and the beauty of the almond trees, young surfers from across the country (Santo Domingo, Boca Chica, Nizao, Rio San Juan, Cabarete, Sosua and Bahoruco) showcased their talent in the strong waves of the Atlantic Ocean at Playa Encuentro in Cabarete, in the province of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

The young athletes delighted the audience and demonstrated their best maneuvers to the judges in a close competition held over the last weekend of summer.

The National Championship "Summer Surf Gromfest 2010" was organized by the alliance of Chino School Surf School of Cabarete, and the Dominican Surfing Federation (FEDOSURF), and supported by local businesses.

Rip Curl has announced that it will release a high-end 3D surfing game to the iPhone market this September. Titled "Live The Search: The Ultimate Surfing Game", the application is being project-managed by Rip Curl International and developed in Australia by Sydney-based creative agency Lomah Studios.

Driven by Rip Curl's "Search" philosophy, the game will allow players to travel the world as Mick Fanning, Stephanie Gilmore or a created surfer, chasing swells and surfing some of the most secret waves in our oceans.

The player advances through the game by completing goals, unlocking trips and completing other objectives. There are no contest rash vests in this game either - it’s all about travel, adventure and living the Search.

Hurricane Earl was blessed for thousand of surfers of the East Coast of the USA. There were waves for anyone.

At Jacksonville Pier, Cody Thompson tried many times, but he finally did it.

In a two-hour surfing session, Thompson managed to pull an incredible Alley-Oop after several attempts.

Jack Johns is the 8th World Bellyboard Champion.

The new king of the wooden boards was crowned in Chapel Porth, Cornwall, UK.

The typical summer rain and the grey skies weren't enough to drive away the competitors from the great waves that greeted everyone.

The World Bellyboarding Championship was initiated in 2002 by Chris Ryan and Martyn Ward as a memorial contest to the late Arthur Traveller, a wooden surfboard lover from London.

The Australian ASP veteran Tom Whitaker, 30, is making a comeback to the Dream Tour.

Whitaker will rejoin the elite surfers by replacing injured Joel Parkinson.

In 2006, his last appearance on the ASP World Tour, Tom finished 6th place.

Tom Whitaker will be trying to impress the judges in the last six stages of the Tour: Trestles (USA Hurley Pro), South West Coast (Quiksilver Pro France), Peniche (Portugal Rip Curl Pro), Somewhere In (Puerto Rico Rip Curl Search), Banzai Pipeline (Hawaii Billabong Pipe Masters).

More than 200 Australian longboarders will participate in the 2010 Chloé Byron Memorial Longboard Championship, in Bondi Beach, on 17th October.

The surfers will pay tribute to the victims of the Bali Bombing, a tragic terrorist attack happened eight years ago in Indonesia.

All proceeds are heading to the HVSG - Homicide Victims Support Group, a charity nominated by Chloe's father, Dave Byron.

There will be surf, food, music and a night paddle out to pray for Chloé. Also, there's a new McTavish board to be won.
