The third stop on the 2010 ASP World Tour, the Billabong Pro Santa Catarina saw a routing of the rookie class in today's elimination Round 2 as the top seeds enjoyed an impressive return to form.

Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 22, reigning and three-time ASP Women’s World Champion, remains on track for her fourth consecutive ASP Women’s World Title after defeating world no.2 Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS), 19, to triumph in the Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic in Sydney, Australia today.
In a thrilling climax to event no.4 of the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour, Gilmore came from behind to win, showing experience and patience in building 4-6ft (1.5-metre waves) at the host venue of Dee Why.

Joan Duru (FRA) claimed his second consecutive Protest Vendee Pro title defeating Glen Hall (IRL) in a low scoring 35-minute final. Using his priority and taking advantage of the scarce waves on offer Duru made history being the first competitor to claim The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 4-Star Protest Vendee Pro twice in-a-row.
After waiting for the tide to push in over the reef at La Sauzaie consistent 3-4ft (1.0m) waves were on offer for the final day of competition of the US$ 85.000 ASP Men’s Star event. Late this afternoon the huge full tide meant fewer sets coming through the final hour of competition.
